Default And now for something not very different

I've been playing GW since it went gold. I'd never played any sort of mmorpg before and was quite surprised to find how much I enjoyed this one. Over the years, I've bought every chapter/expansion/bonus pack available and have loved them all. In fact, I'd buy more if there were any more to buy. But there isn't.

So now that I have pretty much worn out all the material Anet has for me, I was wondering if any of you have any good ideas for what I could turn too until GW2 arrives. I'm pretty much a solo PvEer, although I do occasionally like the brief interaction one finds in the towns and outposts. I don't want something like WOW with it's all night raids, and I don't want to be forced to play with other people, to deal with spawn camping or PK or any of that other crap. I want more of the same thing, or as close to it as I can get.

Any ideas?

Personally i have been looking at getting back into some Real Time Strategy games....although i will probably pick up a few FPS soon as well....so far i haven't seen any "mmo" type games that i want to play or rather have the time that most games require.

My gameplan untill GW2 is to play gw1 but not as often as I did.

Buy Empire earth III and conquor the world probably as Alexander

other than that I will continue to play my old rainbow six series of fps games.

variety is the spice of life and also the secret of preventing game burnout

... A man with three buttocks!

Damn thread title

Anyho, OP: If you've never played them before, I heartily recommend Baldur's Gate 1 & 2.
They rock.

As does Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2.

And Golden Sun 1 & 2.

RPGs r gud.

Anarchy online was a really really cool game. Also if you wait until march or april I might be finishing a game I'm working on at that time xD...maybe...or maybe I'll be working on it for another year and a half (whatever)

I can give you a list of games not to play though:
1. Runescape
2. World of Warcraft (trust me, don't...it's a really good game but you'll waste all your money on it.)
3. Lord of the Rings online (this one for the same reason as WoW)

If you have plenty of money and time then I guess WoW and LoR are both really good games (they have very entrancing storylines and it's almost impossible to be bored for very long.) But they're both like a drug, very very addictive (read articles about video game addiction xD)

Have you seen the hours put in by people who play Guild Wars? It doesn't take a subscription fee to keep you addicted.

If you like first person shooter games CoD 4 is a must! I've barely played GW since it came out.
WoW is a great game, but you have to pay per month. But I think it's well worth it.

But if you are looking for GW stuff to do... aim for 1000K in your storage. It's the only thing left for me to do.. for a 3rd time.

Definitely Oblivion.

Also agree with Knights of the Old Republic or anything by Bioware for that matter.

And I haven't played it yet, but I hear The Witcher is pretty cool...

/signed for Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Fable, and Oblivion, they're definatly worth trying. Neverwinter Nights was good too (the first one + both expansions), but the second was a constant lagstorm (like, telling ti to do something and that only happens about 5-10 seconds later... gg).

can I add you in a petition to get Neverwinter Nights 2 renamed as:
the most dissapointing game of the year due to 30 minutes of laggs for every 1 minute of gameplay...and a really annoyingly long title now

????

If you're going to go the RTS route, you can't go wrong with World in Conflict. Single player campaign is a blast, online play is always happening - and free - and Massgate's support is phenomenal.

Real Time Strategy

Hellgate London is good fun, it is very buggy though.
TF2 is a good laugh
I still love playing Call To Power as well

QFE. Not normally a fan of RTS games, but Jesus. Hooked on WiC like Michael Jackson is to little kids. It's pretty easy to pick up, and fun from the very beginning. Only complaint is that sometimes your allies are completely retarded in online play (running into your own air strikes, or worse, calling them down on your guys, etc), but that's a given in any multiplayer game these days imo. Still great fun regardless of win/lose.

Yes, C&C is a RTS

Series got worse with age though. First is still the best.
